
The Rotary Club of Naperville/Downtown meets at David's of Jefferson Hill restaurant, located in downtown Naperville at 43 East Jefferson Avenue.
The Club meets officially from 4:44 to 5:45 p.m. every Wednesday. Make-ups are $20. Light refreshments, libations and fellowship are served up from about 4:35 to 5 p.m., with club announcements, introductions, and a short program immediately following. All programs are scheduled for 20-30 minutes.

Club Meeting: Location - David's Restaurant Program: Our guest, Varsha Pancholi, will be talking about the IDS (India Development Service) Save-A-Mother program. The program aims to minimize suffering and death associated with pregnancy and child birth. IDS works in partnership with local NGOs in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India, which has one of the highest maternal mortality rates in the world. Many other regions in India and rest of the world are in a similar situation where this program can be replicated. Presented by Tony Chirico. |

Club Meeting: Location - Rosebud Darlene Senger, a member of the Naperville City Council and a candidate for Illinois state representative, gave us an update on the Canadian National Railroad's proposed acquisition of the EJ&E Railroad, which runs along the western perimeter of the City. CN projects rail traffic to increase from 15.7 to 42.3 trains per day on the rail segment that runs along Naperville’s western boundary. Judy Ellertson from Rotary Sunrise also let us know about the upcoming Mystery Night Event, sponsored by her club. |

Two Rotary scholarship recipients from the College of DuPage were present and thanked the Club. One student is planning to be an educator, and the other a nurse. A representative of COD also thanked the Club for the scholarships the Club awarded to students at COD.
Rotarian (and Judge) Neal Cerne then gave us a bit of insight into his duties as a Judge, and profiled the types of cases he is seeing in his first assignment, Traffic Court.
